THON

This year, the sisters of Omega Phi Alpha partner with Omega Chi Sigma for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THON's mission is to conquer pediatric cancer and to offer support to the families of The Four Diamonds Fund. Each year, over 15,000 Penn State students help to raise money and awareness with their efforts culminating in a 46-hour dance marathon held in February. The Bryce Jordan Center is full of energy and excitement during THON Weekend as 700 dancers go the 46 hours without sleeping or sitting. We love being in the stands and on the floor all weekend long to support our dancers. We are proud to have contributed to the astonishing $100,000,000 that THON has donated to The Four Diamonds Fund over the years.

For the Zeiglers
For the Wiles
For the Martins

The Zeiglers have been our THON family since 2009. Every year, we continue to THON for a cure in memory of our angel Miranda. We love spending time with the Zieglers  throughout the year, including Canning Weekends, our annual Family BBQ , THON 5K, Family Carnival, dinners with the family, and Relay for Life. We look forward to spending many more incredible THON Weekends with our truly amazing family!

A few years ago we were lucky enough to be paired with a new THON family, the Megan Martin family! They are a fun and energetic family who loves sports and we are so happy to welcome them to our Penn State family! Megan fought her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at both the Hershey Medical Center and St. Jude’s Hospital. In the Spring of 2019, Megan lost her battle with leukemia and took her first breath in Heaven. We show our love to the Martin’s by continuing to support them as they go through this difficult time and continuing to bond with Audrey and Joel (her sister and brother), and always remembering Megan’s light in our THON efforts.

For THON 2023, we were so excited to find out that we had the opportunity to be paired with a new family, the Hailey Wile Family! Hailey is an amazing 8 year old who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in April of 2022. She then had two cycles of inpatient chemotherapy and had rotationplasty surgery in July. We are so proud of her as she finished up chemo in November.
The Wiles love to travel, go on bike rides, camp, and watch the 76ers and Eagles together. We are so happy to have been able to meet the Wiles and cannot wait for THON weekend with Hailey, her younger sister Quinn and her parents Jacqueline and Kevin!
