We work with Penn State to make sure we are leaving a tangible mark on campus

Many projects and partnerships exist to make sure we are serving the State College and surrounding areas to the best of our abilities

We strive to touch and change as many lives as possible -- no matter the location. We have a large active network of sisters, mentors and partners who help us connect to organizations across the globe.

It's important to recognize and serve those closest to us. We not only work alongside our sisters but for them, as we forge relationships and catalyze change.

With a commitment to service, the sisters of Omega Phi Alpha are always looking for ways to help those who are in need. We love to volunteer as a sisterhood, but we also volunteer individually around campus and off campus. Here’s a look at some of our past and planned service activities...

During the Spring 2013 semester, Omega Phi Alpha sisters began a partnership with LifeLink, that we continue to do today, attending weekly lunches and bi-weekly social activities with LifeLink students. LifeLink is an organization for students with special needs, to show that friendship has no boundaries. Check later on for more updates!

For many years in a row, the sisters of Omega Phi Alpha worked hand in hand with children from the Centre County Down Syndrome Society every Saturday teaching them songs and dances. The hard work culminated in a final performance, "For Good," attended by parents, friends, and community members. The performance went wonderfully and a cast party was held for the kids as well as sisters and family members following the show. Sisters enjoyed the exciting semester helping the children explore their musical and acting talents.

One of our favorite activities is spending Tuesday and Thursday evenings with the folks at The Village at Penn State, a senior living center off campus. From pumpkin carvings to wild Bingo nights, we have forged a strong relationship with not only the organization but the residents. We cannot wait to see what plans this partnership has for us this year!

Omega Phi Alpha realizes the importance of blood donations - With just one donation, three lives can be saved! Omega Phi Alpha hosts many blood drives throughout the year. Be sure to come out to one of our future drives and donate your time and blood to support the American Red Cross and help save lives!

Sister are always volunteering. Whether they are participating in fundraising 5Ks, helping local families in need, making sure campus events run smoothly, writing to our troops, engaging in outdoor cleanups at the Arboretum or Mt. Nittany, giving tours for prospective students, or volunteering across the globe, sisters love using service as a way to bond!

During the Spring of 2016, Omega Phi Alpha paired up with Pi Lambda Phi again and held a dinner benefiting the Nitanny Greyhounds. The dogs were around during the whole dinner for everyone to pet and play with.

Most recently, in the summer of 2016, a few of our sisters traveled to Jamacia to help a specific community in the area. Their passion and willing to help inspires us all.
